Vijay Sonkar

Vijay Sonkar is a skilled graphic designer, hails from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Since childhood, Vijay had a creative brain set that helped him to create innumerable animations and gifs. He had done B.tech in Information Technology in 2006 from Dr. K.N.Modi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ghaziabad. Vijay then decided to make a permanent career ahead in technology, so after completing studies, in 2010, he joined the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay to pursue a Master of Design, Animation, and Film Design. In his IIT days, he worked on the project NOT THIS TIME which was the short-animated movie based on farmer suicides.

In the project, he has tried to find out how a small problem pops up into several major issues and ultimately ends up in the suicide of farmers. He highlighted the reasons which could ruin all the hard work done by a farmer throughout the year. But for his animation film, He had chosen floods as a destroying factor. Vijay started working on Mrityuvanchak for his degree project, where he used interactive storytelling through the medium of gaming. It was a story of a person who died in a road accident but did not want to go with yamaraaj to Mrityulok! So, he decides to cheat the yamraaj and death. After completing his Master's in 2012, he became a motion graphics animator in NDTV Goodtimes.

The journey in his first job was not so long. He then became graphics head in Plancess Edu Solutions in December 2013. For 6- months, he then worked as a designer for the ministry of science and technology. In 2014, Vijay joined the FOOD FOOD TV channel as a motion graphics designer and worked there for more than two years. Vijay then became a Design consultant in Viacom18 Media Private Limited. He worked for ungrammary as a vertical head, motion design for one and half years.

Then switched his career as a visual design lead in Simpplr. Vijay is a multidisciplinary artist and is a believer in improve and grow. He also holds an Instagram page of doodles where he publishes creative work. Vijay was a specialist in producing, directing TV show's graphics packaging, explaining infographics videos, company montage, digital presentation, concept generation, script, character design, and many more.
