Hindi Director Rohit Gupta

Rohit Gupta is a well-known film director, film producer, and entrepreneur. He has earned his graduate degree in Master’s of Business Administration MBA, from Wingate University in North Carolina before taking a short filmmaking course at the New York Film Academy. 

He was born in Mumbai, India, and presently resides in the United States. He is known for directing films, including Survive or Die (2018) Life! Camera Action… (2012), Midnight Delight (2015), Corridor (2013), Another Day Another Life (2009), The Colour of Me (2018). 

His initial film assignments at the academy during the course that he had worked on became the inspiration for later works. 

He has also won several awards and has been nominated for many as well. He is the founder and owner of Dot & Feather Entertainment Production Company, Film Festivals To Go (FFTG), and FFTG Awards Film Fest. 

His first film, Another Day Another Life, was a four-minute suspense thriller. It was chosen as an official selection at the Short Film Corner for the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. It brought him recognition and helped him build a career in filmmaking. After which he was offered to extend his year-long stay at the New York Film Academy. 

His first feature film, Life! Camera Action…, was an inspiring family-drama movie with a two-member crew. It was shot in three languages English, Hindi, and Punjabi, as part of the story plot. This was followed by a comedy feature, Midnight Delight in 2013. 

In 2010, he had been invited to speak at the Sensoria, an annual week-long film event held every year, in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is a platform where education connects with professionals who create cinematic magic in Hollywood. He was felicitated at Sensoria George Cochran, by the event founder and former Directors Guild of America commercial film director and Vice Chairman of the North Carolina Film Office.

He was honored as an industry leader and mentor for the students of the Central Piedmont Community College Arts and filmmaking department. He was again invited to speak at Sensoria in 2012 to share his filmmaking experience after his two films.

In 2013, Symbiosis International University in Pune invited Gupta for a guest lecture on Management & Creative aspects of filmmaking. In May 2015, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore invited Gupta as a speaker for the seminar and SAE Institute in Dubai invited Gupta to address a seminar to its filmmaking and multimedia students. 

He was invited to be on the jury for Charlotte 48 Hour Film Project in North Carolina for three years in a row (2014-2016). In 2011, Gupta had been invited as a special guest speaker at opening of the New York Film Academy's first open house session in India. He has been credited for being the first alumnus of the New York Film Academy to have made a short film assignment into a full-length feature film while he was in the program. 

In 2012, Gupta had been invited as an honorary member on the Global Artistic Advisory Board of the World Music & Independent Film Festival based in Washington, D.C. Rohit Gupta has been listed in the Limca Book of Records, which is India's equivalent of the Guinness World Records. His name has been listed for having created a national record for the first Indian to shoot a full-length motion picture with a two-member crew.

He was listed by Times Now as one of five global Indians nominated worldwide for the "2014 NRI of the Year" award for his "Distinctive Global Achievement in Arts & Entertainment".
