Shweta Puthran hails from Kundapur, a small town in Karnataka, and has been interested in pursuing fashion design since her student years. So, she did her post-graduation in fashion communication from IED Milan and moved to Mumbai to pursue her fashion design career. Shweta Puthran launched a fashion retail company called Smendons Fashions Private Limited in July 2014, along with her brand launch of Change 360°, which caters to different types of garments for people aged between 18 to 35 years, who live in Tier 2 cities.

Later, she launched her fashion line called Southern Sway, which focuses on beach and resort wear and was showcased at the India Beach Fashion Week Goa in 2015. Her collection was inspired by South India’s landscape which received an overwhelming response among people under the beach and resort wear category. Shweta Puthran has styled several models and socialites over the years for commercial and celebrity photoshoots

She has also collaborated with several fashion outlets like Como Collective and Vachi to showcase her traditional and modern outfits. Shweta Puthran has worked as a fashion designer in the Hindi OTT industry by working in some web series like Adulting (2019) and Please Find Attached (2020). Apart from working as a fashion designer, Shweta Puthran is an aspiring voice-over artist and has worked on multiple commercial projects. She is active on social media and often posts several updates about her career prospects.
