Pooja Tripathi was born on February 12, 1985 to a Lucknow-based family that respected art and culture. Her father, Rajendra Tripathi, was a government servant, and her mother, Meera Tripathi was a school teacher. Being brought up in a typical Indian family, Pooja was drawn towards fashion and designing from her childhood. She was often fascinated by the colours and embroidery found in the cultural hub of Lucknow. She completed a course in Fashion Designing at NIFT, Delhi, where she acquired knowledge of costume design, textile patterns, and garment construction. The motive was very much evident, and soon enough, she started getting noticed for her creative approach of blending traditional Indian aesthetic insight with that of contemporary fashion.
Her debut project, "Zindagi Ek Safar", released in 2008, provided her with immense opportunities. She did work for many TV Serials and ad campaigns. Additionally, she has collaborated with renowned Bollywood designers on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's projects. The minute detailing of the traditional Maharashtrian attire with royal grace earned Pooja a lot of praise. The costumes worn by the actors in the movie were trending, and fans and fashion enthusiasts alike attempted to replicate the royal looks. Over the years, Pooja Tripathi has designed for “Padmavat”. For which she received numerous awards. She also used to do costume designing for television serials, fashion shows, and ad campaigns. She has won many prizes throughout her career in the fashion and film industries.
