Deepa Chander is a writer, senior film technician, and costume designer. She founded the "A Default Spiritual" and "Crochet Made in India." She was born and raised in Nigeria. Then she moved to Hyderabad. She came to Hyderabad in 1986 and made this city her home. She did an MA in Psychology and a postgraduate diploma in Computer Science. She used to be an Interior Designer. Later she got into Costume Designing. She hasn't done a proper course in Interior Designing, but it was her passion to be an Interior Designer one day. She started her career in Tollywood with the film "Missamma" in 2003, directed by Neelkanta. She gained popularity for the red saree she designed for the actress Bhoomika Chawla. She has worked in 100 films to date. She has worked in many Bollywood films as well. She has also worked as a Character Stylist, Executive Producer, and Art Director for the movie "Yevade Subramanyam."
She has created costumes for Mantri, Anasuya, Arundhati, Shankar Dada Zindabad, Kavya's Diary, Lakshyam, Maska, Chakram, and many other movies. In 2009, she received the Nandi Award for the best Costume Designer for the film " Arundathi ZEE, Telugu television presented on 13rd March 201 >> Read More... ." She has also written a book, an upbeat memoir of her life, which is a roller coaster. Apart from being a costume designer, Deepa is also a single mother of two daughters and one of the bravest people. She is quite a perfectionist and wants to do justice with everything she pursues. She is such a happy and content person that her children named their house "Happiness." Also, she is an energy reader. She posts energy and psychic readings on her Instagram page “A Default Spiritual.” She also takes appointments for psychic readings and spiritual healing. She is one of the most hardworking and dedicated artists in the entertainment industry.
