Glen Castinho

Glen Castinho is a colorist and DI Consultant. He has been working as a freelance colorist and DI Consultant at Outer Space Employment Agency since June 2015. He was born on April 21. He completed his senior secondary school at Monte De Guirim, Goa. Later, he took a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree at the University of Mumbai. He shared some highlights from his experience in locations around the world, including India, the UK, the USA, Poland, and Germany.

Glen Castinho did not complete his film school, and he did not come from the film industry. But growing up, he was interested in animation. He then studied animation and computer arts. Films were a hobby, so Glen Castinho ventured out doing many other trades, from being a DJ to working in sales. The director Ashim Ahluwalia encouraged and helped Glen Castinho enter the post business with an Autodesk Smoke internship. When Glen Castinho was introduced to the Spirit 2K and the Da Vinci 2K Plus, he enjoyed it so much that he made the shift. He began by embracing the tape room know-how to prepare the grading sessions & assisting the senior colorist. Glen Castinho started working as a FilmLight Ltd Digital Colorist and Product Colorist at Shaf Broadcast Pvt Ltd in Mumbai for two years (2003 – 2005).

In 2005, he began to work with a FilmLight reseller in India. His responsibility was to introduce Baselight to the clients, provide support, and conduct demos with training. He visited many facilities throughout the country while assisting with installations & calibrations of Northlight, Baselight, and Truelight. It was a valuable experience and helped him gain a thorough insight into the DI process. In 2007, Glen Castinho moved to Europe, where he helped set up two 4K DI suites. He worked as a DI supervisor & DI Colorist at Galaxy Studios in Mol, Belgium, for a year (2007 – 2008).

Later, he got involved in building the DI department at Alvernia Studios in the Krakow Area, the most modern post-production facility in Poland. He was the Digital Intermediate Head of the Department & Chief DI Colorist at Alvernia Studios for over seven years (Jan 2008 – May 2015). Before this, he worked on “ Miss Lovely Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” a film set in the criminal depths of Mumbai C-grade horror film industry in 2012. He worked with director Ashim Ahluwalia as the DI Consultant. He also worked on “Ve Stinu,” directed by David Ondricek and shot by DOP Adam Skiora in 2012. As a colorist & DI consultant, he also worked in many television series, including “Moms and Mothers” (2015), “Malik Bin Ai Rayb” (2016), “Erin” (2022), and many others.
