Rajiv Jain is an Indian Cinematographer, who is known for capturing breathtaking scenes through his lenses. Rajeev belongs to a mediocre family and was born in Lucknow. He was brought up in Etawah, a small town in Uttar Pradesh. Rajeev’s father owned a camera that he was not allowed to touch. He has told that this provoked his curiosity and made him a Cinematographer. Rajiv Jain graduated from the University of Lucknow, in Uttar Pradesh. He further studied Stage Lighting and Stagecraft at the Bhartendu Academy of Arts.

Rajiv Jain was fascinated by light and wanted to become and Light Designer. Rajiv Jain had no connection with the Cinema field. His father was a Banker, and he wanted Rajiv  to become an Engineer or an IAS officer. In contrary to that Rajiv Jain ended up choosing a completely different field. He realized his love for lights, at the early age of ten, during the shooting of the movie Shatranj Ke Khilari. Rajiv wanted to study in Film and Television Institute Of India but did not get through entrance examination.

His family was very supportive and is the reason behind his success. As they show in movies, Rajiv's life turning moment came after seeing a foreign flick titled Contempt. Rajiv Jain started his Bollywood career as a helper to the Director of Photography. He worked as a novice for another eight years before making his debut as DOP. Rajiv started his career by doing small endorsements for a few brands. Rajiv  made his debut in the year 1996 through a Rohit Shetty Film called as Army.

The movie has ShahRukh Khan in the lead. He has been a part of nine movies, twenty-four short films, and more than two-thousand advertisements. Rajiv has won various Awards in Berlin Film Festival, Bombay International Film Festival, Chicago Film Festival, Venice Film Festival and so on.
