Kusum Haidar is an Indian actress. Her date of birth is the 29th of October 1940. Kusum completed her graduation from Miranda House, Delhi University. Later in 1980, she did MA in Liberal Arts from New York City at The New School for Social Research. She married Salman Haidar. They have two children, Nadeem Haidar and Navina Najat Haidar. Kusum Haidar was a student of the Theatre Unit, School of Dramatic Arts, in Bombay, under the guidance of director E. Alkazi. She was awarded a scholarship from the French Government for specialized training in theatre arts, and she was trained in mime by the world-renowned teacher Jacques Lecoq at Ecole du Mime, Paris, from 1962 to 1963. She also trained as a teacher and director of drama at the British Drama League in 1963. She was the founder member of the theatre company Yatrik.

Kusum has won various awards. She received the Best Production Award from Miranda House, Delhi University, for Riders To The Sea. She won the Best Actress Award for Dinner With The Family and Vasna Kand from Delhi Natya Sangh Academy. In 2012, she received the award for Salman Rushdie's and Deepa Mehta's film Midnights Children. In 2013, she bagged the Sangeet Natak Academy Award from the President of India. Later, she won the Sangeet Natak Academy Award and the Nat Samrat Award in 2018 and 2017, respectively.
