The Assamese industry is full of talented individuals, one such gem is Anurag Barua. He is a visionary filmmaker who expresses his thoughts and story in a way which ignites emotions among the audience. He is one such person who has not only received regional recognition but is also respected nationwide for the authenticity of his work. He was born and raised in a small town in Assam. From his childhood days, he developed a keen interest in the art of filmmaking.

In his early days, he used to study a lot about filmmaking and direction, and the knowledge inspired him to pursue a path in filmmaking. He was raised in a family that promoted and encouraged art and culture. Anurag has been a very bright student since the beginning. He has a solid educational background, which also helps his filmography career. Initially, when Anurag started looking for direction jobs, he got none because of no experience. But soon enough, when he bagged the role of assistant director, it was a turning point in his career.

Anurag has also received formal education in filmmaking from one of the most prestigious film schools in India. When his first film was released, it began a new era in the Assamese film industry. Anurag has never stuck with a particular genre for the entirety of his career. He always delves into the diverse themes and narratives like human emotions, society's challenges, etc. His films always have a social message attached to them, along with the unlimited entertainment factor.
