Ratan Sil Sarma was born in Kamakhya, Guwahati, India. He is a renowned Film Director of Assamese and Hindi Film Industry. Ratan has completed his High School education from Guwahati and Graduated from Guwahati University. His career in the Film industry started as a film editor, wherein he edited many Assamese movies. He has edited the movies Gangs of North East, Dham Dhama Dham, and Kokaideu Bindaas. Ratan had worked as a promo producer for Day & Night News, Network 18, and MMI Online.
His journey as a director started in 2016 when he first Directed his Debut movie in the Assamese Film Industry Marksheet, which received several awards in the Prag Cine Awards. He also directed the Hindi Film Pepper Chicken in 2020, released on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Videos. Ratan Sil is the Founder of Box Digital India- a Music Distribution and Entertainment content creation company based in Guwahati.
