Jersey is scripted and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who directed the film of the same name in Telugu. Shahid Kapoor reprised the role, which “Nani” did in Telugu. Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur, Ronit Kamra, Geetika Mehandru, Shishir Sharma, Rudrashish Majumdar, and Rituraj Singh are cast in the prominent roles. Geetha Arts, Sithara Entertainments, and Brat Films produced the film with Sri Venkateswara Productions. Anil Mehta cranked the camera, and Naveen Nooli edited the film. Anirudh Ravichander composed the BGM, and Sachet and Paramapara composed the songs.
Arjun Talwar is a cricketer. Though he possesses good cricketing skills, luck didn’t knock on the door. He was once a Ranji cricketer. Though he quit his career, he wants to prove his worth to the world and make his son and wife proud. Was he able to accomplish his dreams? The rest of the story deals with it.
The Telugu remakes and Shahid has a strong chemistry. He excelled in his role as Arjun. Shahid had put a great effort into playing this role, which is evident on the screen. Mrunal played a good understanding wife, Vidya. Vidya is very practical and Mrunal did the role with ease. The rest of the cast supported the leads well.
The characterization in the film is excellent; whether it is Arjun, Vidya, Kittu, or Madhav, every character has its style that impresses the audience. Shahid has got a great performance-oriented role after Kabir Singh and this will add to the list of Best Roles in his career. Shahid’s expressions are flawless and he adds tension during the match scenes. Moreover, the sports drama is an emotional thriller that ties the audience to their seats. The cinematography and the songs are satisfying. The production designs are fantastic and carry the audience into the story.
What’s Not There?
Jersey is a nail-biting drama watchable once with family! If you’re a sports enthusiast, you’ll definitely love it!
