The Adam Project is a science fiction film scripted by Jonathan Tropper, Nowlin, Jenifer Flackett, and Mark Levin and directed by Shawn Levy. The film features Ryan Reynolds, Walker Scobell, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Catherine Keener, Zoe Saldana, and Alex Mallari Jr. Tobias Schliessler handled the camera and editing is by Dean Zimmerman and Jonathan Corn. Rob Simonsen composed the music. Skydance Media, Maximum Effort, and 21 Laps Entertainment produced the film.
Adam is married to Laura. She is engaged in a mission under Maya Sorian’s team. Adam knows that she might not come back alive. He wants his wife back, and hence he decides to time travel to make things right. Unfortunately, he lands on the wrong date, when he could see his younger version. Will his younger version help him? How he moves back to the correct date to save the world and his wife forms the rest of the story.
Ryan Reynolds fits perfectly in the role. His expressions are flawless, and his body language is perfect. Zoe Saldana did her best. The rest of the cast had done what was required.
The director has given an exciting story with a racy screenplay with time travel as its central plot. The lead characters are designed well, and the stars are appropriately placed. The science fiction film also has family elements to satisfy the family audience, including mother sentiment and teenage and middle-age issues. They are dealt with neatly. Besides these, the film has a lot of commercial elements needed for the genre. The VFX and editing are neat. The movie is technically fine with all the essential things.
- Shawn Levy’s writing and execution are top-notch
- The performances of the stars are excellent
What’s Not There?
- Nothing big as a mistake
For the audience, who love to watch sci-fi thriller flicks, this film will be a great treat.
