Plot

Flora Buckman, a 10-year-old girl, loves superheroes. George, Flora’s dad, is a comic writer who is not much popular. Her mom, Phyllis, is also a novelist. Her parents are not together now. Flora wants to live in the superheroes’ world after reading the comics. Flora’s neighbor is Tootie. A squirrel gets stuck into her vacuum cleaner. Flora saves the squirrel and names him after the vacuum cleaner brand, Ulysses. Soon, she finds that the squirrel is not a normal living thing but has some superpowers. George and Flora take him to their apartment and monitor it. What happens after they take it to their home? Did the squirrel bring any change to their lives? The rest of the film deals with it.

Star Performance

Matilda Lawler is good at her performance. The rest of the stars shine well in their roles.

Analysis

Although many stories show animal and human bonding, this one is quite different. Right from the simple dialogues to the execution, the makers had worked out well. The VFX effects are fantastic. The BGM and cinematography are good, and the editing is decent. The director should have tried to spend some extra time to explain the complete reason why George and Phyllis got separated. The characters are penned well, especially Matilda’s Flora. The energetic and enthusiastic girl impresses everyone who watches the film.
