The serial revolves around two individuals named Tabaan and Zuhair’ who have been in love with each other since a long time from their college life. They trust and love each other to such a point that they have decided to marry each other once they complete their studies. However, destiny and fate have different plans for them.

Although they had decided to marry each other with the approval of their families, their hopes crash when Zuhair finds out that his mother had already promised his aunt of his hand in marriage with his cousin Natasha. Zuhair is deeply and madly in love with Tabaan and has a dislike for her cousin because Natasha is portrayed as a very arrogant and self-centred woman. Meanwhile, Tabaan’s father suffers a major loss at his work and gradually becomes bankrupt. This puts the whole family in a difficult situation. Ausaaf Kiyani, a friend of her father’s offers help on the condition that Tabaan would accept his hand in marriage. This puts Tabaan in an even difficult condition but she soon accepts her fate and deciding that if buy doing this she could save her family from poverty then she must do so. Tabaan decides her fate and marries Ausaaf cutting off all ties with Zuhair without giving him any sort of proper explanation which leaves him devastated.

However, she finds out that Ausaaf is already a married man and his family does not accept her in the household with all their heart. Tabaan is disheartened but decides to follow every command to appease the whole family even though she suffers silently. Her life takes a major turn once more when Ausaaf suffers a heart-attack and dies from it. However, before dying he had asked his close friend Khalid to take care of Tabaan. Khalid treats her as his own daughter where she meets Zuhair once again. Will their relationship heal and whether their love would rekindle is what constitutes the rest of the episodes.

Tishnagi Dil Ki revolves around the story of college lovebirds Tabanan and Zubair planned to get married after graduation. However, their families and their destiny have planned for something else. Zuhair's mother has already promised her sister to make the relationship between Zuhair and his niece Natasha. Zuhair is deeply in love with Tabaan and dislikes Natasha, as Natasha is a self-centered and arrogant girl. Tabaan's father had a loss in his business and went bankrupt. The risks increase when his friend Ausaaf Kiyan offers to help him by marrying Tabaan.

Given his family's financial constraints, Tabaan agrees to marry Ausaf, who is already married. Tabaan makes a life-changing decision without telling Zuhair and cuts all connection with him. Tabaan suffers from atrocities in Ausaaf's house as her family is not ready to accept her. Tabaan tries her best to obey everyone around her. Once again, her life is interrupted when Ausaaf suffers a heart attack and dies. Before passing away, Ausaaf assigned his close friend Khalid to take care of Tabaan. Khalid takes responsibility for Tabaan as his daughter and Zuhair reunites again. Can Tabaan and Zuhair love each other with their broken hearts?
