Raqs-E-Bismil is a Pakistani family drama TV serial that aired on HUM TV. This serial deals with a very powerful theme of women empowerment and their oppression by the patriarchal society. The serial focuses on two brothers who come from a conservative family that is patriarchal. Although the eldest members of the family have passed away their kids, Moosa and Essa are still in line to carry on their legacy of being conservative and oppress the women in their lives. They are surrounded by women in their family and try to impose their own rules on them making them unable to make their own decisions and live life on their terms. These women are controlled and soon they realise their worth and dreams. They try to fight against the patriarchal system of society and challenge the men in their family.
