In the serial, Parsa is a Muslim girl who is close friends with David, a Christian and the son of her parents' trusted friends. As a result of Parsa and David's friendship, the two become in love. Thus, Parsa finds herself challenged as she ponders the implications of falling in love with someone of a different faith. Irfan and Waheeda, Parsa's parents, are delighted with the proposal, but Parsa is unsatisfied. Safia arrives and proposes marriage to her son Salman. In contrast to her social and lively personality, Salman is quiet and reserved. Safia dies from a heart attack, leaving her family devastated. After her aunt's death, Parsa's world turns upside down, and she focuses on her studies and accepts Salman as her parent's choice to cope with the grief. To be with Parsa, David converts to Islam. A few years later, Parsa and David marry and face many difficulties.
Their journey takes them to Europe, where they begin a life together but encounter many challenges that test their relationship. A time jump of 18 years in the plot introduces an older Momi, who has grown up and is travelling to Pakistan for her poverty thesis. Parsa eventually becomes a well-known doctor, and they have a daughter named Mary. Her health deteriorates, and she conceals her cancer battle from her family. While in Pakistan, Momi unexpectedly interacts with Parsa, including falling in love with Salman, Parsa's ex-fiance. David recognizes his error and returns to Parsa to repair their relationship. Momi and Salman end up marrying. Parsa's health deteriorates further, and she begs David to divorce her. She dies peacefully in her final moments.
