The serial revolves around a female lead character named Noorulain Aneez and the entire series is based on the novel named "Rebecca" written by author Daphne Du Maurier.
Noorulain is depicted as a child who has lost both her parents and is currently an orphan. She goes by the name of Noorie and is humble and sweet in nature. Noorie being slightly adventurous in nature accidentally lands herself in a palace through a series of situations. The palace is owned by an old man and his wife Princess Rania. Both the Princess and her husband wanted to adopt a male child in order to continue their lineage and make someone a proper heir to their property.
However, upon meeting young Noorie, they reluctantly agree to bring her in instead of a male child. Under their care and attention, Noorie soon flourished to become a beautiful, young, well-educated woman with the proper etiquette necessary for a royal family. Princess Rania is depicted as a kind-hearted and compassionate lady. Her husband on the other hand is shown to be a man who cares very little for his own wife. All Princess Rania ever wanted in her life was the love and affection of her husband but her husband had always denied her that comfort and support which she dearly wanted. Instead, they always quarreled with each other and he had gone and stated that Princess Rania had everything any other woman ever wished for. She had wealth, beauty, qualities, and makings of a good leader and she was even loved by the people.
However, the one thing she couldn't ever have had was the love of her own husband. After a period of time, during one of their quarrels, her husband accidentally kills Princess Rania and later decides to marry Noorie in her stead. Caught between the good and bad decisions Noorie agrees to the marriage reluctantly and albeit somewhat forcefully and becomes the new Princess of Noorpur named as Noorulain. How the past and wrongdoings of one man catch up to their actions in the present and how Noorie deals with the sudden burden put on her shoulders is what constitutes the rest of the episodes.
