Mujhe Apna Bana Lo is a Pakistani serial that premiered in 2015 on HUM TV. It is an Urdu-language serial. The story focuses on the lives of Priya and Azaan as they make unexpected decisions for themselves. Priya is a beautiful young girl who lives with her aunt named Jharna. Priya is Hindu and lives in a Muslim neighborhood; however, she has never experienced differences based on her religion. Priya is a close friend of Azaan, her neighbor. Azaan is a Muslim and lives with his parents and younger sister. In contrast, Azaan’s father is not narrow-minded and accepts all religions. Azaan’s mother is very particular about her religious beliefs and carries them in her family. Jharna is a widow and took care of Priya after her parent’s death. Azaan’s family grew closer to Priya and Jharna to make them feel at home with their loved ones. Priya and Azaan treat each other’s family as their own and care for each other. The story escalates on the day of Holi.

Priya forcefully played Holi with Azaan’s family and threw colors on them. While Azaan’s mother was disgusted by this act. Azaan enjoyed playing Holi with his friends. The story paces when Azaan accidentally throws colors on Jharna. As a widow, hinduism doesn’t allow a widow to indulge in festivals and Jharna strongly believed in the teachings of her religion. She was upset by Azaan's action and scolded Priya for not respecting the boundaries of their religion and applying colors to them. Later, Azaan apologized to Priya and Jharna for his actions. The story takes a new turn when it is revealed that Priya loves Azaan. However, they both knew Inter-religious marriage wouldn’t be possible in their case. Azaan’s mother warned him to avoid any feelings for Priya.

Later, as the story moves forward, it is seen that Akash’s father is in love with Jharna and wants to marry her. However, he is hesitant because of her religious ideology related to being a widow. As the story moves ahead, Priya’s affection is visibly seen by everyone, and she is suspected of having feelings for Azaan. One day, Azaan gets into a road accident, and gets minor injuries. Azaan’s mother notices the closeness between the two when Priya visits Azaan and takes care of his eating habits. Their mutual friends also notice their chemistry. What will happen next?
