The show’s plot was inspired by the English novel Sister of My Heart. It’s essentially the story of two step sisters born on the same day, at the same time, and about how their lives always somewhat remain interconnected.

The two sisters shown in the show are Nazia and Shazia. Nazia falls in love with a man named Shehbaz, who she had met outside a movie theatre. However, the family fixes the wedding of both the girls elsewhere. Shazia is set to marry an American-educated man named Moiz, and Nazia is set to marry a man named Fahad, who happens to have a somewhat overbearing mother. Nazia attempted to flee her wedding with Shehbaz but got caught. After the wedding, Moiz lost his job, compelling them to shift to a small flat and later his parents’ house, and Shazia had to take up a job in a primary school for financial reasons.

Things got worse as Moiz started drinking and beating her. On the other hand, Nazia got pregnant, but she and her husband had to hide the fact that she was going to give birth to a girl from Fahad’s mother, who was constantly demanding a boy. Shazia moves back to her maternal home after a terrible fight with Moiz, and Nazia is kicked out of her house as the truth about the sex of her child gets revealed to her mother-in-law.

Fahad is forced by his mother to divorce Nazia but he wished to stand by her and the extreme pressure leads him to commit suicide. Hearing this news, Nazia went into early labour and later went to visit her mother in law along with her daughter, who realized her mistake and encouraged Nazia to marry Shahbaz, which she does. The show tells the story of the two sisters in a compelling and engaging manner. It makes the audience sympathise with them, laugh with them, and even be happy for them, constantly keeping them engaged.
