They have been having an affair for a long time. Both are madly in love with each other. Gouhar wants to marry Mariam. He has been to her house many times to ask her hand for marriage, but Mariam’s mother rejects him every time. Gauhar’s family does not know about this relationship. The men in his family are also infamous for keeping two wives at a time, one in the city and one in their village. Mariam’s mother fears Gouhar will carry on this familial tradition.

She asks Gouhar to come with his parents as a surety, but he is scared to talk to his family about Mariam. Gouhar’s father is a strict and traditional man. He believes in family traditions and values more than the family’s happiness. He had fixed Gouhar’s marriage with his cousin, Sisa when they were kids and wants them to get married now. Meanwhile, Mariam’s mother wants her to marry Asad, Mariam’s sister-in-law’s brother. They decide to get married without informing their family. Their friend, Amir was helping them. Amir, however, is against their plan of secret marriage, but they plead to help them. Amir is also secretly in love with Mariam and thinks Mariam is committing a mistake. They get married and inform their families over the phone. Mariam’s mother dies of shock as soon as she hears the news.

Gouhar’s father goes to their place and points a gun at a sleeping Mariam and asks Gouhar to sign the divorce papers and come home. Gouhar is forced to leave Mariam. Gouhar is forced to marry Sisa that very day. Mariam wakes up to find divorce papers and is shattered. Amir comes to rescue her and take her home. She sees her mother’s dead body, and her world crumbles down. Her brother and sister-in-law blame her for their mother’s death. Her brother throws her out of the house. Mariam hates Gouhar as he has destroyed his life. Amir takes her to his house. Amir has two small kids, and his wife died long ago. Amir’s mother wants him to marry again so the kids can have a mother’s love. Amir’s mother likes Mariam. The kids start liking her as well. A love story starts brewing between Amir and Mariam.
