The story revolves around the lives of Zoya and Sharjeel. This is a typical story of a love triangle. Zoya and Sharjeel are cousins by Relation. Their families want them to get married to each other. Sharjeel doesn't love Zoya. He considers her as a good friend, but nothing more than that. Zoya, on the other hand, is secretly in love with Sharjeel. She has always loved him and wants to marry him. Zoya works under a wealthy businessman named Ahmer. She doesn't like him much because of his rude and cold behaviour.

Ahmer, on the other hand, is secretly in love with Zoya. He doesn't have the guts to say the truth to her face, so he finds another way. He transforms into a new character named Babbar Mian. He acts as a helpless guy who is in the quest of finding a job. He contacts Zoya, and they start talking. One day, Zoya’s grandmother hears their conversation and misinterprets it. She thinks that something is going on between Zoya and Babbar Main. Babbar Mian contacts the grandmother and confesses that he wants to marry Zoya. Zoya’s family is unaware of the truth that Babbar Mian is Zoya's boss. They visit Ahmer’s home and decide to accept the marriage proposal. Ahmer seems like a nice guy to them. Soon, Ahmer finds out that Zoya is in love with Sharjeel. He calls off the wedding and decides to convince Sharjeel of the wedding. He still talks to Zoya through the phone but never met her in person. He doesn't care about his wishes and just wants to see Zoya happy. Sabeen is also in love with Sharjeel. Sabeen’s life is also a bit complicated. She doesn't know the truth about her birth parents. Her step-parents are not good people at all. Her marriage was already conducted in her childhood by her foster parents. She knows nothing about this marriage. Sabeen’s dad is a corrupt man in the income tax department. She wants to expose her dad. She asks Sharjeel to help her in this process. During the process, both of them fell in love. Sharjeel tells the truth to Zoya. Zoya is heartbroken with this sudden change of events after loving Sharjeel for all these years. Suddenly, the guy who Sabeen married in her childhood returns. He wants to marry her just for the money and then leave. Finally, the marriage was declared invalid as both of them were too young at that time. Grandmother decides to marry Sabeen with Sharjeel, and Zoya with Babbar. Although she expected something else. Zoya is not happy with this decision and decides to play some dirty games. She wants to marry Sharjeel at any cost. She created a big misunderstanding between Sabeen’s and Sharjeel’s families. Zoya succeeds in her plans and the wedding is finally called off.

After some time, Zoya starts feeling guilty and confesses everything. Sharjeel and Sabeen are again getting married. Zoya agrees to marry anyone now. She doesn't care about her wedding anymore. Zoya and Babbar will be getting married a week afterwards. On the wedding night of Sharjeel and Sabeen, Zoya receives a call from Babbar Mian. He wants to meet her and finally reveal the truth. She is shocked to see that Ahmer is Babbar Mian. This was a well-appreciated and recognized serial. It won the title of Lux Style award for Best TV Play in the year 2002.
