The story follows the main protagonist, Mehwish (Maham Amir). She is a young, educated, and ambitious girl. She dreams of completing her higher studies and making her own identity in the world. Although her father dotes on her and supports her fully, her mother is the complete opposite. She wants Mehwish to marry as soon as possible and settle down so that her younger daughter, Seharish, can marry. It is because, as per societal norms, the younger sister should not get married before the older one as it will attract unnecessary taunts from society.

As the story progresses, a rich and handsome man, Haris, falls head-over-heels for Mehwish. He quickly proposes marriage to her family. However, her father refuses this proposal because he wants his daughter to finish her studies and fulfill her dreams. So, Haris assures the girl’s father that he will support her dreams even after marriage. After this assurance, her father agrees, and the wedding happens. 

Everything was going smoothly, and Mehwish was quite happy in her married life. But her fate takes a cruel turn, and her husband dies. Once happy life of a newly married young bride became saddened in one night. With nothing going on in her favor, Mehwish has to return to her “babul ka angna.” Where her mother, sister, and aunt made life tough for her. Every day came with a new challenge.

As if that was not enough, Mehwish forcefully remarried. Her second husband also has a daughter who did not want her father to bring a new mother for her in their house. So now Mehwish has to endure an unhappy life in this unwanted marriage. Till now, Mehwish has boldly faced everything that life throws at her. But can she tolerate it anymore? What fate has in store for her? Can Mehwish still fulfill her dreams and stand on her feet?
