Plot

Rangachari Nataka Mandali is owned by Rangachari, a Harikatha artist. Whenever he conducts a Harikatha and performs a specific avatar of Lord Vishnu, some brutal and suspicious murders take place on that day. Though the villagers believe that the god is punishing those people, Virat, the cop, is suspicious about Rangachari. Who is the real killer? The rest of the series explains that.

Star Performance

Rajendra Prasad proves his versatility once again with his performance in Harikatha. His portrayal of Lord Vishnu’s avatars is excellent. Srikanth is back to his form. His expressions are good. His performance in the emotional scenes is laudable.

Analysis

The theme is quite good, and the emotional scenes are executed excellently. But, the revenge element through the devotional theme seems to be a routine one. Some unnecessary characters are inserted to give a twist, but they actually spoil the flow. A fight sequence appears to be superficial and the songs in Harikatha also break the story’s flow. A few characters should have been designed better, especially Dasu’s character has a few flaws. A few devotional scenes are shot well and create Goosebumps. The art direction, visuals and editing are decent. The BGM is good, too.

Verdict

The series has good performances, visuals, and editing. Despite the flaws, including some mistakes in the characterization, the series is worth watching once!
