Trinayani is a Telugu language TV serial that airs on the channel Zee Telugu. The show premiers on television from Monday to Saturday at 8:30 pm for half an hour till 9 pm. Trinayani is the remake of a Bengali serial with the same name that was created by Shree Venkatesh Films. The Bengali serial was telecasted on the channel Zee Bangla. Trinayani is the story of a woman from a village called Mukkantipuram.

Nayani is the granddaughter of the village temple’s pandit. Their village is famous for the Radhotsavam that takes place every year for Goddess Visalakshi. Nayani lost her father when she was young. She lives with her grandfather, mother, Shayamla, and a younger sister, Sumana. Since childhood, she’s been able to predict the future. The events don’t come to her mind in full sequence. They occur as a few snippets of the event in the form of visions. Whenever something bad is about to happen, she can see it before it does. Though Nayani uses her gift to prevent evil, the villagers don’t consider it the same. They think that the event is occurring because of her bad mouth, one that causes evil to others.

They try to steer clear from her and use every chance to make her feel bad about herself. Her grandfather is the only person who understands her gift and treats it as one from Goddess Visalakshi herself. Nayani has a friend in the form of a pet, a parrot, whom she named Shiva. Shiva is a talking parrot which tries to help Nayani fulfil her duty of preventing evil. Her mother has always told her not to tell anyone about the visions, but Nayani can’t help herself. When Nayani had a vision of a bride drowning in the river, she sets out to find who the bride is. Her mother orders her not to do it and locks her in the house.

When Nayani finds out that the bride is her best friend, she escaped to go save her. Her best friend, Subhadra, comes from the most respected and richest family in the village. Subhadra’s father, Jagadish, is a respectable man. After his first wife, Gayatri, died, he married another woman named Tilottama, who is a despicable woman. Gayatri’s children are Subhadra and Vishal. Tilottama’s son is Vikranth. Tilottama showers sheer love on Vishal, which makes him love his step-mother as his own. But Tilottama is only doing all that for the money. A few episodes later, Jagadish expresses his opinion that Vishal and Nayani would make a good couple.

He experiences an accident after that. In a series of events, Vishal gets married to Nayani to please his father, but not out of his heart. Nayani’s power helps her talk to the spirit of Gayatri, who is a kind woman. Gayatri helps Nayani through all the ups and downs she faces and one day remembers how she actually died. Gayatri was killed by Tilottama. From the moment she gets married, Nayani has faced nothing but indignation. She was kicked out of the house and underwent a great deal of mental torture because of Tilottama. With Gayatri’s help, she slowly gets out of the misery and gets justice for Gayatri.
