Plot

A series of murders takes place at Podaturpet in Tiruvallur, an Andhra Pradesh bordering district. Athiyamaan is the SI, who is complained of spending his time in a nearby tea shop rather than doing his duty. Lakshmi, another SI, is appointed to probe into the murder case. In all the murders, the murderers have taken the wedding chains from the women and the waist chains from the men. Another commonality in these cases is a question mark drawn on the walls. While investigating, the cops find that to cover seven murders, the murderers have committed 70 murders. Is this a psychological disorder? The rest of the series deals with this.

Star Performance

Samuthirakani is decent in his performance. Sshivada is good in her supporting role. Munnar Ramesh did what was asked for.

Analysis

The story is set in the late 90s, when the cell phone was not familiar. The series had a promising start, but gradually it lost its focus. Sshivada’s character is used only to focus on Samuthirakani’s character’s current position. It is an underwritten role. Samuthirakani’s Athiyaman lost all hope for a fair system, and even applied for a voluntary retirement, but turned all of a sudden with a huge hope that he could fight against the black sheep in the department. The reason for the murders is explained towards the end. However, the makers have brought in a preachy style climax.

Verdict

If a few sequences had been made with energetic scenes and logical explanations, the series would’ve impressed.
