Sayangala Uravugal is a Tamil serial aired on DD Podhigai. Jai scripted the screenplay and dialogue. Madan composed the music. GPR directed and produced the series.

Visu and Lakshmi are married. Visu is a businessman, and Lakshmi is a homemaker.  They have two children, Ramesh and Vandana. Ramesh is married to Mythili and has two children: a son, Vikram, and a daughter, Sandhya. When Vandana gets an offer to study in Delhi with a scholarship, Visu is ready to send her, but Lakshmi wants her to get married. In a turn of events, Visu suffers losses in his business as his partner cheats on him. However, he files a case in court, and the proceedings are underway.

Meanwhile, Vandana decides to go to Delhi for higher studies, as she gets help from her college principal. She believes that she will get a good job after her studies, and with that, she can help her parents. Visu and Lakshmi send her to Delhi. Soon after these incidents, Ramesh’s behaviour changes, and he starts degrading his parents. In a turn of events, the elderly couple decides to leave the house and settle in an old-age home, where Visu gets a manager job. As the old-age home belongs to Visu’s friend, he allots him a portion to stay there. After a few months, Visu wins the case and gets back all the money, he lost in his business. Now, Mythili asks Ramesh to call back his parents. What will be Visu and Lakshmi’s decision? The rest of the story follows this.
