Bharathi Kannamma 2 is the tale of a young girl who has lived away from her family since childhood and wishes to reconnect after several years. Following her tragic demise, her friend Chithra vows to return to the family as Kannamma to aid Kannamma's ailing mother.

The show proceeds with the profound love between Bharathi and Kannamma (Chithra), who secretly tie the knot when his family pressurizes Bharathi into an undesired marriage with Venba. As their families vehemently reject them, Bharathi and Kannamma opt to live apart until his mother acknowledges their union.
