Mu Gaan Jhia is one of the popular shows telecasted on the Tarang TV channel. The show is in Odia language. It is uncommonly based on women and their lives during a festival. The three-day Raja Parba festival is held in Odisha. It occurs in the middle of June, and its first three days are known as Pahili Raja, Mithuna Sankranti, and Bhu data or Basi Raja. Vasumati Snana is the name of the fourth and last day. Women and girls take time off from work during these three days, dressing in new sarees, dresses, plates, and jewelry. And no agricultural work like sowing or plowing is done in three days as Mother Earth is resting too. The show is based on this concept, it tries to connect the audience from their roots and the cultural dimension of Odisha.
