Sergio RodrÃguez is a Spanish football manager, who was born on January 16th,1977. He is currently in charge of Indian club FC Goa. Sergio was born in Zaragoza, Aragon. After an impressive performance with Dosa Salesians and UFB JÃ bac Terrassa, he signed for FC Barcelona in 1997.
He has to go through its youth system and be the manager of the C-team in the 2006–07 season, in the Tercera Division. Sergio was then appointed as the director of sports at Terrassa FC in June 2007, for being the manager in the last seven games of the campaign. In May 2010, Sergio was appointed as the manager for CD San Roque de Lepe, signing a three-year deal.
In the upcoming seasons, he managed AD Ceuta, also in Segunda Division B. On May 11th, 2012, Sergio was appointed FC Barcelona's assistant manager behind Tito Vilanovaa. However, after a month later, he signed for the head coach position of the Segunda División side UD Las Palmas. Sergio finished his first season in charge of a professional football club in the sixth position, as they were defeated in the play-offs by eventually promoted UD AlmerÃa.
He renewed his contract with the Canarians on June 18th, 2013, but was relieved from his duties on 26 May of the following year. On December 24th, 2014, Sergio got appointed at Botola's Moghreb Tétouaan until the end of the campaign. On June 6th, 2017, he switched clubs and countries again, joining FC Goa from the Indian Super League for a two-year contract. On November 17th, 2018, Sergio renewed his link at the Fatorda Stadium until 2020. After five months, he led his team to the mission of the Indian Super League Cup.
