Maaya is a thriller series that aired on Tarang TV.

A priest performs pooja at Lord Shiva’s temple, where many devotees are present for the pooja. While he was performing the pooja of lights, he witnessed a snake around Lord Shiva’s statue. When everyone are shocked and afraid to go near the serpent, a snake charmer enters the temple and with his Murli, he controls the snake and takes it with him. At the same time, a group of youngsters who were drinking, witnessed a young woman walking around the forest in the dark. They follow her and see her dancing with her partner in front of Lord Shiva’s statue in the forest. They don’t know that they are shaping-shifting serpents and disturbs them. They transform into snakes to save their lives. Afraid of the snakes, one of them shoots the male snake and pushes him to death. After seeing her partner’s death in front of her eyes, the female serpent takes a vow to kill all of them.

The story takes a leap. Nagesh completes his education in London and returns to his hometown. His mother, Gargi, performs a special pooja for him. Nagesh drives the car, but on his way home, he loses the way and ends up in the jungle. He witnesses a lady and follows her. He doesn’t know that she is a shape-shifting serpent. She pushes him down from the waterfall, and when Nagesh is about to die, Rudrika, who comes by the way, saves him. Why did the serpent try to kill him? Who is Rudrika? What is her role in Nagesh’s life? The rest of the story speaks about that.
