The serial is a small try to reject this age-old notion. It teaches its viewers to not judge a book by its cover, and that a kind person may belong to any class of our society. 

The story of this series revolves around Karnik family of Mumbai. It is a joint family consisting of many family members. The Karnik household is financially stable or well to-do but not very rich. Atharva Karnik is the protagonist, who is the youngest among the brothers. Besides him, the other family members are Sudhir Karnik (father), Aruna Karnik (mother), Shekhar Karnik (Atharva’s Uncle), Devika Karnik (Atharva’s Aunt), and an elder son and his wife. Atharva fell in love with Ananya, who hails from a rich family.

However, Aruna is already fed-up with the tantrums of her rich daughter-in-law and co-sister-in-law. For Aruna, the above notion seems to be true in every aspect. Hence, when Atharva and Ananya’s love affair is exposed and they got married, their relationship is put to test on every front. Whenever there is a situation when the age-old notion seems to be true Ananya has to prove her worth. She always staying firm with the family proving that rich girls do make good daughters-in law.
