His popular movies would include Oru CBI Diary Kurippu, The King, Commissioner, Lelam, Godfather, etc. He did many programmes (more than 300 radio dramas) for All India Radio, acted in more than 200 films, and almost same number of tele serials. The actor is also a writer and a poet having published several of his works. He is also a renowned social worker and is the regional Chairman of Health Oriented Programmes Establishment based in Kannur, Kerala. He is married to Vijaya Devi and has a daughter Gayathri.
