MTV Nishedh is a Hindi drama broadcast on the MTV channel. This show depicts the life of a girl named Astha. She has just moved to Mumbai with her friend Chanda from a small city, Udaipur to start a new life for herself. They are staying at their aunt’s home at Juhu. Astha is a fashion freak but a much better comic artist. She has started as an intern to pose as a model in a company that rents out clothes. Jyoti is the head designer and she is in relationship with Raghav, another employee of the same company. They were talking about something taboo in the office which Astha overheard. Astha has been ridiculed in her past because she belongs to a rigid family who does not accept the girl's drawing.

Megha is a radio jockey. Vickey Kashyap is an ill, insomniac, and tuberculosis patient who gets thrown out of his rented house because his landlord comes to know about his disease. Chanda is a teacher who is really good at classical music. She gets a job of teaching students, music. Astha’s aunt has forbidden her to bring any boy or alcohol to her house. But Astha allows Jyoti and Raghav to talk in her house. Manav, a friend of Jyoti, delivers a gift to Astha, as a favor for letting her and her boyfriend talk. Manav and Astha meet for a lunch date where they discuss a business deal. Astha disagrees with his deal.

Vickey and Manav are the exact opposite of one another. Vickey has accepted his defeat from his disease while Manav comes up with new ideas each day to make his life better. Meanwhile, Megha starts a new show ‘Nishedh’ on her radio channel where she encourages people to share their taboo stories with her. Astha accepts Manav’s business deal. Raghav is cheating on Jyoti and is jealous of her work at the office. Manav starts renting spaces for private conversations in this busy city of Mumbai. This space is Astha’s house. Vickey and Megha are close friends. Meanwhile, Jyoti is pregnant and she books an appointment to consult the doctor. Astha’s aunt returns home which means her business venture has to stop. Raghav steals Jyoti’s designs and shows them as his own. The head of the office knows that Raghav stole the designs and fires him. Jyoti breaks up with Raghav and dumps him calling him a pathetic excuse for a man.

Pulkit is a music colleague of Chanda and her friend. Megha and Vickey go to his appointment for tuberculosis together. Megha’s boss is angry with her as she wants to discuss tuberculosis on her radio channel. Despite her boss’s disapproval, she invites a tuberculosis survivor and a doctor to share his story on her radio channel. Vickey calls on her show to share his journey. Megha is providing for her whole family. Manav’s business has expanded. But now Manav and Astha are fighting for the position of CEO of their venture. A journalist interviews Manav and prints that he is running some illegal business. Megha helps them by clearing the air and announcing in her show what this business venture of Astha is about. In the end, Astha reconciles with her parents after they come to know about the business and continues to spread ‘Venture 5’.
