The serial story is that Arpita is pregnant and arrives in Kolkata with her husband, Shubhu. Her husband sells her to Sonagachi, the place for prostitutes. Arpita gave birth to a baby girl there, and Shantanu named her Puchki. Years later, Shantanu and Puchki become best friends. Later, Shantanu was adopted by Arindam Mazumdar, and Puchki remained alone.
Shantanu's stepmother learned that her husband used to come to Sonagachi, and Shantanu is his biological child. After learning this, she decides to leave Mazumdar Mansion, but she slips and falls. Later, he started maintaining distance from Puchki and Chanda under the influence of his stepmother, Nivedita.
