, and Donal Bhist. The story depicts the story of a boy Roopendra, Roop, who experiences patriarchy in his family. His father, Shamsher is against the thought of females being equal to men, and so he keeps Roop away from the females of the house as his mother and sister. The reason for this was that Roop, despite being a male, like cooking, sewing, the things which were considered to be a female job.
Also, Roop had a best friend, Palak who was Samsher’s best friends, Jeetu’s daughter. Jeetu had different thoughts about females and gave his daughter all the education, and support she needed to stand strong in the society. Shamsher did not like this idea, but he could not say so because Jeetu was his best friend. Later, Shamsher sent Roop to a military school so that he could be away from all the females, and build a masculine character.Â
