The story starts with the introduction of a mysterious temple of Lord Shiva. The myth surrounding this temple is that if an unmarried woman worships Lord Shiva in this temple on Mahashivratri, she will be able to see the face of her future husband. Also, this place is surrounded by evil spirits during this time. A girl named Sandhya sees the face of an unknown man named Kapil, regardless of the fact that she is engaged to a guy named Angad and loves him. She should have seen his face. Kapil is Angad’s best friend. But despite all of these negative signs, the wedding is still going to happen.

On the wedding day, Sandhya ends up marrying Kapil. Later Kapil reveals himself as an evil spirit who had been plotting revenge for the last two years. She finds that Kapil was happily married once and lived with his wife Sakshi and his son. His family was murdered by a guy named Ashutosh. Sakshi is Sandhya’s twin sister who was lost years ago. Now he wants his lost child from Sandhya and also his lost wife in the form of Sandhya as she closely resembles Sakshi. He kills the man Ashutosh and keeps on murdering each and every person responsible for his family’s murder. His whole family is present in the form of spirits. Even his wife Sakshi is now a ghost.

Meanwhile, Sandhya gets pregnant with Kapil’s child. Sandhya gives birth to a baby boy named Prem. She persuades Kapil to leave earth. But Sakshi becomes jealous of Sandhya’s son Prem and kidnaps him. After seven years Sandhya is shown having another child, this time a girl, but with Angad. She has been searching for Prem for the last seven years but has not found him. Finally, she finds him living in a dirty house with Sakshi. She takes him home but Prem is not a normal human being. He possesses supernatural powers as his father was a spirit. This makes him vulnerable to evil forces who want him to use his powers. Now Sandhya becomes his Kavach ie, shield.
