Kala Sona is a Bengali TV serial aired on ZEE TV every Monday—the story of this famous Bengali novel, Pichchil. The author of this novel is Tathagata Mukhopadhyay. The story is about the strange and unexplored modern world. It is about an honest and courageous oil officer, Shantanu Ray, who investigates the case of a recently discovered oil field that has disappeared. Gradually, Shantanu learns that the government has decided to give a contract to those who produce and process oil from the land to a foreign company. However, as production begins, something strange happens to the government. The company discovers that the oil field is suddenly dry. The barren oil fields give the biggest problem for the Indian government as the oil field is to propel India towards self-sufficiency. Shantanu Ray learns, and with his deputy, Sagar investigates the matter.
He finds the flaw in the entire program and then works to fix it. What Ray finds out is very shocking even to viewers and has the potential to cripple India's whole oil industry. It could lead to economic losses in the millions. This series is 30 minutes of a single episode, captive.
