Richard and Bighead work at Hooli. They are tour typically nerds who don't like to socialise with anybody. Richard is developing a software which can compress the size of any given file. Richard goes to a Ted talk to find a VC to provide funding for his software. Hooli finds out about the compression software, and they offer Richard ten million dollars or sell it to them. To increase the value of their company, they need to win a competition. They start preparing for the Tech Crunch competition. Meanwhile, Hooli is also coming up with its compression software to provide competition to Pied Piper.

To capture the market, they need to be creative and also they need to be the first to launch the software. Richard faces lot of problems while developing his software. Being the CEO, he needs to conclude business deals, something he is not good at. They go to Tech Crunch and are directly promoted to the final round. Richard has to deal with his ex-girlfriend, while Jared is starting to doubt his role in the company. In the last round, they compress a 3D video and win the fifty thousand dollar price. They then start celebrating their victory by doing interviews on various news channels and tech blogs.
