60 Minutes is an American television news magazine show in English that airs on CBS Television Network. This program is very different from the normal news with a reporter-centered investigation. As mentioned in the name, each episode is exactly 60 minutes, including a commercial break. The first episode of this show was broadcasted in the year 1968. It consists of 54 seasons with over 3000 episodes as of now. This show has received many prestigious awards such as Emmy Awards, Peabody Awards, and many more.

Each episode is made up of three brief news stories which are presented individually. Each story/topic is introduced from a set using backdrop resembling pages from a magazine story on the same topic. Between two stories, there is a commercial break. The journalist hosting the episode conducts an investigation on the topic being presented and also follows up on investigation launched by national newspapers and other sources. That journalist collects all the information related to the subject and puts it forward to the viewers in an appropriate format.

Towards the end of each story, the journalist draws up a conclusion based on facts and findings. For each topic, a single journalist is assigned, who conducts the entire research and presentation. The topic is not shared among multiple journalists as compared to the ordinary news shows. This creates a strong connection between viewers and journalists. The journalists pick up the most trending topics and social issues from all over the globe and conduct an unbiased analysis of the same. The show has also been around in many controversies.
