Asha is married to Prakash. They have a daughter. She lives in a joint family. She comes from a village and is less educated. She neither understands English nor can she pronounce certain words. Her family makes fun of her inability to understand things or use a cell phone. It is not comfortable for her to live in a city without having much knowledge of how to behave and converse with people. Asha still tries her best. Asha is a humble and innocent lady. She always tries to be good to others even if she does not get the same behavior back. 

Nobody in her family respects Asha. Everyone, including her husband, looks down on her. Her husband did not want to marry her in the first place but was pressured by his parents. He feels that Asha does not match his level. Prakash is often annoyed at Asha for doing things wrong or not understanding some things due to her low education. He disrespects and mistreats her. But Asha does not take any offense. She still serves her husband and family with love and grace. Asha does everything around the house. She is the backbone of her house still no one respects her. She believes in God and hopes that God will make things right for her someday.

Meanwhile, a lady, Sheila enters their life. Shiela takes a liking to Prakash and wants him for herself. Sheils's attractiveness sways Prakash. Prakash sees that Sheila is a beauty with brains. She is an educated lady who wears stylish clothes, maintains herself, and knows how to be around people. Prakash has always wanted a modern wife like Sheila. He is attracted to Sheila, which threatens Asha’s marriage. Asha takes it upon herself to save her marriage from failing. She starts making changes in her so that Prakash finds her attractive. Sheila may be attractive, but she is wicked and has her intentions with Prakash. Asha uses her brain and belief in God to save her from a broken marriage.
