Chandramohan Chaliha is a business person with all traits. The only truths he agrees to in life are profit and loss. His greed for money and power is prominent and this leads to an unfortunate accident that causes a poor family to lose their child. The man carries his dead son’s lifeless body to Chandramohan’s gate and curses him with a fate where he would have to pine for his child one day. Meanwhile, Chandramohan’s son, Ayushmann, gets married to Shyamontika, who is the daughter of a well established, honest lawyer.

The couple is blessed with a son and is blissfully married. The tables turn on her when Ayushmann dies unexpectedly. This triggers a lot of speculations from her in-laws, who start blaming her for Ayushmann’s death. Unable to bear the harsh treatment, she moves in with her parents. Her in-laws aggravate her troubles by snatching away her son. Now, under pressure, she goes through an undesired second marriage with a man named Robin. But that marriage ends and she returns to her parent's place. She becomes independent and attains justice for herself. She starts her legal practice along with her father and gains success. Shyamontika’s son gets kidnapped, and the kidnapper turns out to be the man who had cursed Chandramohan. Ashamed at his arrogance and greed, Chandramohan seeks forgiveness from the man. The Chalihasrealise their mistake and finally request Shyamontika and her son to return home with them. The series has been well received, and the storytelling is properly paced.
