Baazigar is a 1993 suspense thriller with Shah Rukh Khan playing the lead character. It was one of the first movies with the concept of an ‘anti-hero’. Filmed by the iconic director duo Abbas-Mustan, it went on to achieve cult status in the history of Indian cinema in that genre.
The story revolves around a sadistic Killer, who wants to destroy the family of the business man who was the reason for his father’s death. He first charms his elder daughter and Kills her, before falling in love with the younger daughter, played by Kajol. With fake identities and many gruesome murders throughout, the film makes sure you get the chills.
‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankein’, composed by Anu Malik, was one of the most popular songs from the movie. The singer of the song, Kumar Sanu, won his fourth consecutive Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. The song, filmed on Shah Rukh and Kajol, plays at an important juncture in the movie and adds to the feeling of mystery and suspense.
