want to live in their beautiful and a big bungalow in Vizag. After moving in, some dreadful and unexpected things occur due to soul’s wrath. The vengeful spirit possesses Priyanka and takes over her. It wreaks havoc in her life and thus disrupts the peace of the family. What are the problems? Why is it creating problems? How do they overcome this menace? To know the answers the audience needs to watch the movie.
Analysis: Sivagami is a horror cum thriller movie. The director has taken the picture very interestingly without any boredom. But audiences can conclude scenes before their approach. At last evil and horror film, lovers can rejoice, but others may feel exasperated. The script is the old mundane one with the usual ingredients of horror. But the main thing which will affect the viewers is the direction and the portrayal of the story, which is the main attraction of the film. The screenplay is the biggest drawback.
Editing is not good as the songs interrupt the flow of the movie. The story of the film primarily does not have any new thing to offer. It is all about old myths and spirits. The trailer was launched nearly two weeks ago and shook up the social media sites. It starts with the shoot of an enchanting bungalow, which is haunted by a spirit. The trailer shows some supernatural scenes which set up the growing anticipation. The movie has a short list of tracks. The music is not that much appreciable as it does not get that much hype and response. The movie has got a pleasant response from the critics, and the censor board has given it a clean sheet.
Star performance: Suhasini Mani depicts and plays the spirit, the actress who enacted in the role of Maharani, in the best film of Tollywood, Bahubali. Suhasini has already done so many horror flicks, and this time, she just nails it.
What’s there? The entire episode of flashback that is in the second half is good enough. Based on some true stories during the 90’s, the reconstruction of the events in the flashback is good. The problems faced, and the couple’s emotional outburst have been picturised well. The use of VFX in the spirit’s scenes is appreciable.
What’s not there? The elements of horror exhibited are quite ordinary. Too much time is used to reveal the horror and when it is time to scare the audience, the thrill shatters. The second half entirely based on the spirit should have seen some more interesting and thrilling scenes. The climax becomes routine once the suspense unravels at the end.
Verdict: The film is a must for those who love horror flicks. Trailer and Teasers have set huge stakes, raising the expectations of the audience.
