Plot
Based on Sri JM Prahallad’s novel, Srikantha, a deaf and mute village guy, after a tragedy, travels to a city to find his sister, who has eloped, faces several accusations and discovers a talent for painting.
Star performance
Harsha Venkatesh does an okay job. Acting of a disabled person is the toughest to crack, one step wrong and you can mess up the performance but Harsha tries not to come across as comical but a sweet and kind person. The rest of the actors are also decent at best.
Analysis
When you’re stepping in for this film, remember it's incredibly dramatic. The trope of an overbearing mother is off the charts in this film. The actors were told to act as loud as they could. Everybody in the film is doing that Harsha Venkatesh tries to play the role convincingly but is okay in his portrayal and the rest of the actors are a little comical in their approach because so much is at stake but you wouldn’t feel anything. The film’s message is to be kind and not be only empathetic towards disabled individuals but create opportunities for them so they can be self-reliant. Film from a technical aspect is okay, it doesn't offer anything new, it has the usual commercial elements and decent at best. You can watch it once. It had the potential to be an absolute knockout but is quite surface-level in its approach. Mooka Jeeva could’ve been knock out but it's not a misfire it's in the middle.
