Plot

This is the story about the 1980s and 90s village named Mahalakshmipuram, where people start to die mysteriously every Tuesday, leaving behind a chilling message on their walls. As a result, the village's people started getting afraid. As these deaths keep on rising with time, a well-determined police officer named Maaya arrives in the village to uncover the truth behind these deaths. Her investigation reveals a web of hidden desires, dark pasts, and haunting connections behind all these incidents; Zamindar, Prakash Babu, his wife, and other village people become her prime suspects. Meanwhile, Sailu, a young woman, emerges as a key to unlocking this mystery with some connection to these incidents. Flashbacks reveal her troublesome childhood, and a night in 1996 that unleashes that dangerous entity that is causing all these deaths and responsible for all the horrific incidents happening in the village. Now, this movie shows the journey of Sailu and Maaya, how they face all the hurdles, uncover the mystery behind all these deaths, and whether they will save the village by stopping that dangerous entity.

Star Performance

Mangalavaaram (2023) boasts excellent acting that makes the movie even better. Payal Rajput plays Sailu, the main character; she just played this character fantastic. She acts scared and vulnerable so well that you feel right there with her. Even the supporting actors, like Nanditha Swetha and Divya Pillai, give excellent performances that add depth to the story. They all work together perfectly, so their characters come to life, making them feel real. 

Analysis 

Mangalavaram (2023) is not just a typical horror movie; it is a complete journey that delves into fear and thrilling mystery. Under the direction of Ajay Bhupathi, the film successfully creates a suspenseful atmosphere that makes the audience sit on the edge of their seats. Apart from horror, the film takes a deeper dive into the emotional impact and betrayal. During 

Priya's journey, as she successfully reveals the dark secrets of the house and confronts the dangerous spirit, becomes the metaphor. It gives the message of facing our unresolved grief and anger. The movie also explores the themes of justice and the quest; as Priya unreveals the mystery behind all these deaths and incidents, she not only lets the spirit find its peace, but she also discovers peace from her anxieties and fears. Overall, it's a good mystery thriller Telugu movie with a good touch of horror and that spooky, creepy atmosphere, which keeps the audience engaged throughout the film. Overall, apart from giving its viewers some jump scares, it also provides some good messages to the viewers.
