Vikram Prabhu’s physique is a big plus to play this role and he emotes well. He has also done a good job in the action sequences. His dialogues and emotions in the climax scenes get huge appreciation from the audiences. MS Bhaskar’s performance is top-notching. He lived as the affectionate father and at the same time, he doesn’t want an innocent to be punished for his undone crime. In those scenes, his expressions are fantastic. The villains’ performance is not much focused.
The story is not new. But, the screenplay and the narrative is good. The bonding between the father and daughter is shown well. But, they should have also concentrated on the mother and son clash, a little deeper. The antagonists didn’t get proper screen space. The BGM is good and the cinematography too. There is no intense romantic track to affect the flow of the film and thanks to the director.
What’s Not There?
Although the film has its own pluses and minuses, Thuppakki Munai had come at the right time with the right message. It is watchable once for the performances of the lead stars!
