Plot
Puthiya Niyamam centers on the onscreen couple Mammootty (who plays Adv. Louis Pothan) and Nayantara (who plays a Kathakali dancer).Apart from being a lawyer, Mammootty is also a movie critic and one who empathizes with communism. Mammootty leads a monotonous life with his wife and daughter Baby Ananya.
Mammootty has his unique ideas of the society and his career which in turn takes a toll on his income. However, he doesn’t have any qualms over his humble lifestyle. But again, Nayantara doesn’t conform to some of his ideologies and eventually a gap is created between them. As the movie progresses, few characters enter into the lives of the couple, and the movie gets the much-needed twist thereon. Well, watch the movie to know the rest of the story.
Star Performances
Mammootty is again essaying a role, in which he is always at his best; family man. And the Megastar has done his role with conviction, and this can be considered as one of his splendid performances to date. As for Nayantara, she looks gorgeous and has come out with a commendable performance. The heartening thing is that she has dubbed for herself in the movie.

Analysis
The director of the movie, A K Sajan, has written a story which is relevant in today’s world, and has emerged a winner. Also, he has given all those elements which are required to keep the fans of Mammootty hooked to the seats. In fact, it is learnt that the character of Mammootty in the film is similar to his real life in many ways.
While watching the movie one point that grabs your attention is that the director has taken care in showcasing the intercaste family life of the lead pair.
