Plot

Mahabala is a priest in a village who does poojas for Maramma Devi, an incarnation of the Goddess Parvati Devi. Devi advises the priest not to misuse his blessings, which he fails to do. So, she punishes him, leaves the village and moves to Yarappanhalli. Yarappanhalli is a village where animal sacrifices are in practice. Channa’s son, Surya, falls in love with Narasimha’s daughter, Sindhu. Narasimha, the Village head, is arrogant and greedy. He defies the goddess, Maramma Devi. How did the goddess punish the evil forms the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Yashashwini does justice to the given role of Maramma Devi, the goddess. Harish, Tabla Nani, Ashwath, Dinesh, Divya, and Yash Shetty are good in their roles. Ankita’s performance should have been better. Yet, her chemistry with Yash Shetty is good. Suman has nothing significant to do.

Analysis

The director showcases petty politics and the customs still followed in the villages. The cast selection is good, except for a couple of roles. Veteran actor Suman is not utilized properly. The cinematography is pretty decent and the BGM is good too. The screenplay is a bit weak. If the writing was good, it might have helped the film to get a better elevation.
