Kalpana 2 is a story which is again an attempt made to scare off the people on the big screens.It isn't absolutely scary nor funny.The Kannada movie is a remake of the Tamil's Kanchana 2, which is a much better incarnation of the previous one. The Director has compiled it in his own way, the only change born is songs.The comedy and horror content in the movie is highly cliched.Though as in Kannada Cinema, if the film is horror, then it is a definite success.Unlike the previous one, the flick has not one, but three ghosts.It seems like even the darkness and devil failed to shed its black magic over the film's horror content.Scary movies are no longer scary; the watcher's response could tell this.

Plot: Kalpana 2 casts Upendra as Raghava, who is a TV cameraman, who is frightened by the darkness and has a real ghost phobia.Upendra delivered a double role, as Raghava, while another as an auto driver (Jade Shiva).The driver has fallen in love with a physically challenged girl, who is chatty as ever. In the first half, the film has pace in its flow, while the narration takes a drop gradually after the interval, with most of the scenes stretched longer respectively.

The first half featured a flashback, which was almost predictable, entertaining, though. Raghava partners with a girl he fancies, Nandini, for the shooting of a reality show based on a haunted house, which is although fake, but ends up haunted in real.The rest of the movie is about adventure awaiting in the haunted house. Though the horror part made the movie entertaining.

Star Performances: Avantika Shetty Avantika Shetty from Mumbai is an aspiring actress >> Read More... did a fantastic job. Priyamani even having a minute, did a great role, which supported the root scene of the plot. Shobharaj, being a supporting cast managed to pick up the claps and whistles of the audience.Upendra did a double role, one as an auto driver, while another as Jade Shiva.Both are quite appreciable.

What's there? The film is a package with a masala comedy and horror content which made the movie entertaining, even being alike Kanchana 2. Director R Anantha Raju has not diverted from the plot of the original movie, although adding a slight finishing in his style, the movie is much better version. The Casting of the film delivered a marvelous performance on the big picture, and couldn't have been better. The music and the songs gave the audience goosebumps.

What's not there? VFX in the climax scene totally sucked The direction of the movie didn't serve the genre well, as the genre was neither absolute comedy nor horror. The Cinematography was dull on screen.

Verdict: Even the plot not being that strong, Kalpana 2 is indeed an entertainment dose.If you sought for such movie, then this a grab for you!!!
