Plot

Gunjan Saxena, the lieutenant from Lucknow, had faced a lot of gender-based discrimination during her service in the IAF. Gunjan is the first woman fighter pilot and she is the first and only lady to involve in the Kargil War. She was just 24 when she took part in the war in 1999. Gunjan’s family is soaked in patriotism and her father is a retired army man. Gunjan has an elder brother. Her father motivated them to serve the nation and she dreamed to become a pilot and achieved the goal with hard work and dedication. The movie is about how she overcame the struggles and the issues she faced and flew with the colorful wings.

Star Performance

Janhvi, who has a little experience in acting, got a good role in the initial stage of her career. She seems to have taken this as a challenge and had come out with a beautiful performance. Janhvi got huge training for this role and the final output is the hearts of the audience. Pankaj Tripathi played Janhvi’s dad and he is at his best. His dialogue delivery and body language are perfect.

Analysis

Sharan Sharma made his debut as the director and he doesn’t seem to be a first-time director. He has designed and executed the script well. The dad-daughter bonding is shown extremely well. There are a lot of Goosebumps moments with emotional and patriotic touch. The dialogues are very much impressive, especially Janhvi and Pankaj’s. The director moves the story without any boring moments. The cinematography is quite good and the BGM is okayish.

Nothing as negative

Verdict

The director should be appreciated for his presentation and the stars, for their natural performance. It doesn’t have any boring moments. People, who love watching patriotic movies and women-centric films, will love this film for sure.
